About Aileen

AILEEN LEE wanted to become an author when she was twelve years old. She spent her childhood days in her bedroom, writing and daydreaming about various stories about young teenagers.
Aileen graduated from college in 1990 with an English degree and a minor in writing at Houghton University, New York.

She wrote many poems and was first awarded a "Golden Poet" by the World of Poetry in 1991. The poetry contest also awarded Aileen an "Honorable Mention" for her poem, "Stay Pure, My Rosebud." They also awarded her “Editor’s Choice” for her poem “Fire on the Lake” at the National Poetry Contest in 1995. Besides writing articles for her church publication magazine, she served as an editor for her church newsletter, and has also written and published some of her short stories for the magazine. "The Man," "A Pastor's Touch of Love," and "A Boy Named Lucas" are her stories of Christian inspiration. She worked as a technical writer for a few companies in the late '90s. In 1999, she published her first novel, which she considers “a masterpiece.” It is a mystery/love story called “Under the Rose.” She has also written a couple of screenplays. One screenplay she wrote, "David and Jonathan Unveiled" (2010), was about exploring the friendship of heroes between Prince Jonathan and young David, who became the anointed king in the Bible, 1 Samuel. Another screenplay, "The Secret Joy Lover" (2013), is about a devout mother and her unbelieving son. Her second published book, "Jahar The Lone Boston Bomber #2" (2016, 2018), is a nonfiction story about the convicted terrorist, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, and his high-profile trial in Boston. Aileen published a revised edition of the book in 2018. “Jahar The Lone Boston Bomber #2” was an enormous project to undertake. Especially to follow the case each day and write about it.

Aileen is a self-published author, and there is no staff. She makes her own book covers if possible. She enjoys writing different genres of books: fiction, science fiction, and Christian inspirational stories. Aileen likes to write nonfiction if the story is important and engaging. She hopes to write another nonfiction book in the future. After writing a heavy, emotional story about the tragic event of the Boston Marathon Bombing, she is switching gears to try her hand at writing science fiction. She is currently writing a science fiction series that she had thought about in 2006, but the real motivation to write the story did not start until 2012. It was an on-and-off project that she needed to develop.

She hopes to publish another book by the end of 2025. TBD.

One time, in her writing career, she shared the gospel with international students from Japan and China. She started writing an email blog ministry, "You are God's Treasure," from 2011 to 2013. She wrote to the students occasionally, sharing with them the gospel of Jesus Christ. After the ministry, she wrote three PDF books titled "You are God's Treasure."
When Aileen is not writing, she takes care of her home.
She is a homemaker and wife. She also serves as a fellowship group coordinator along with her husband in her church. Aileen tells Bible stories to children and serves the Sunday School Children's ministry, managing and teaching 1st- to 3rd-grade children.
